Match Reports

Under 7 Boys   Submitted by Seamus Downey

The Under 7’s who have been back training since mid-April had their first football outing of the year on Saturday at the Go Games blitz which was played at St Michaels GAA grounds in Mahon. Kinsale had 3 teams who all competed very strongly in the 9 matches they played against opposition including Glanmire, Blarney, Inniscarra, St Michaels, Fr O’Neills and Ballyholly. The skills displayed by the whole panel were evident throughout the day with some great kick passing and scores being taken, whilst the players discipline in tackling the opposition and the ball in particular was great to see. With a hugely dedicated bunch of players (and coaches!) there is a very bright future for Kinsale. The day was rounded off with a well-deserved bag of crisps and a capri sun! Training continues each weekend with the next blitz in hurling scheduled in Pairc Ui Chaoimh (at last) in early June.

Panel – Archie Irwin; Cian Duke; Connall Kingston; Conor Boyle; Danny Crowley; Darragh Edwards; Fionn McSharry; Jack McCarthy; Johnny Healy; Liam Treacy; Matthew Downey; Paddy O’Riordan; Patrick Barrett; Ross O’Toole; Ted O’Brien; Tom Harris; Tom Morgan; Tom O'Keefe

Under 12 Girls    Submitted by Catherine Murphy

Well done to the U12 girls who beat Courceys A tonight in the West Cork League in sweltering heat!

The game went right to the wire until Maisie O Callaghan clinched a goal right on the whistle to win by a single point!

Thanks to Courceys for a super match with great football on show.

The final score was 3-4 to 2-6 with Kacey Healy scoring the other two goals!

Next up for the girls is a League game away to Bandon Bs at 7pm on Friday! Good luck girls 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🔵

Congratulations to:

Kinsale Rugby Club on their very successful and history making run recently.  Their Under 13 Boys Team beat Bandon to claim the South Munster League title while the Under 14 team created history by becoming the first Rugby team to win a Double – They won their South Munster League beating Bandon by a point to take the victory and had a comprehensive win V Skibbereen in the South Munster Cup (keeping Skibbereen from putting any scores on the board).  Well done to all involved.
