As Season 2018 gets into full swing now .. …..
Best of luck to all our players as they take to the field for Season 2018 to represent their Club and in some cases their County.
Thank you as always to our amazing group of Coaches and Mentors. Your continuous selfless dedication and commitment on a voluntary basis is, in a word inspiring, thank you all so much. The success of our Club is a direct result of all the hard work you do throughout every season – thank you so much and best of luck for the season ahead.
Big Thanks to all our wonderful and remarkable officers and committee members throughout the entire club – who work tirelessly, mostly behind the scenes, planning and organising, shaping the future of the club –Countless hours spent at meetings and organising events etc., again all voluntary – Kinsale GAA Club (Boys Underage, Mens Hurling and Football, Ladies and Girls Football, Ladies and Girls Camogie) will be forever in your debt as you all carry on the fantastic work of committees that went before you.
More Thanks to all our marvellous volunteers and helpers who are always there to help out with everything – the list of jobs is endless – thank you for everything.
And Finally to the Café – where would we be without our Sunday Treats – we are all no doubt looking forward to our Cáca Milís over Season 2018 – probably the best part of the Season :-):-):-)!!!!
Championship Football gets underway on Sunday 15th April for our Intermediate Men in Watergrasshill – taking on Mitchelstown at 3pm.
The Intermediates men’s team played a challenge game V St James of Ardfield Clonakilty in balmy weather (would you believe it?!) last Sunday 8th. Kinsale ran out winners in the end but this match was all about putting a performance in place in preparation for next Sunday’s first round of championship against last years finalists Mitchelstown.
The playing group has put a lot of great work into preparation for championship rounds this year and support from friends and family will be greatly appreciated next weekend !
So we need loads of support on the sidelines to encourage the lads on Sunday – supporters play a huge roll in these Championship games as the players feed off their enthusiasm driving the team on to a big win hopefully – please show your support at this game and lets get behind this team as they proudly don the Kinsale Jersey once more in Championship.
COYBIB&W!!!!

Camogie – 3 years on………… New Helpers/Coaches urgently needed so all age groups can continue to train:
Our newest club in the Kinsale GAA Family is heading into its 4th Season. It’s hard to believe that 3 full seasons have passed since that first meeting in the Temperance Hall to see if there was an interest in Camogie in Kinsale. The camogie club has thrived, increasing in numbers from 90 approx registered underage girls to just over 150 underage and approx. 35 Junior Ladies in 2017. With this huge increase in numbers the club urgently needs new Coaches/Helpers to come on board so that we can maintain the high standard of coaching and organisation currently enjoyed by all the girls.
The club would love to see some new faces getting involved to lend a helping hand and also bringing new ideas and suggestions. At the moment we have a very enthusiastic and dedicated Coaching Team who just need a little bit of help. Coaching/Helping could be ‘bibbing up’ 20 U6 year olds for a training match or maybe helping to lay out the cones for games and collecting them up afterwards. Or perhaps having an adult on hand for toilet breaks or throwing the sliotar to the players so they can strike it !! Basic Skills coaching courses will be available to everyone.
- The more small jobs that we can divide out the more time can be given to coaching camogie skills to the players -
So Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee if you do have some time to spare……a lot or a little, the club would be extremely grateful for any help. The more people we have the less work for everyone.
All our age groups have experienced camogie coaches already – so people will not be expected to take over a group etc etc …………these groups just need more helpers!!!
Thank you everyone - we are looking forward to Season 2018 :-) --- its been a long winter!
Boys Training U6 to U12:
Training Times and locations are still being confirmed for all our teams – due to the large number of teams and players involved – training times and locations will probably vary in April – and once the weather improves – if winter ever decides to take a break – the pitches at Bandon Road and Dunderrow will become more playable!! More definite times will be confirmed for training at the pitch on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
If you have any queries in the meantime – please reply to this email and someone will make contact with you straight away.
Paudie Butler Course - a great success: submitted by Sean O Callaghan
A big Thank you to former National Director of Hurling, Paudie Butler who took time out to come along to Kinsale GAA Club and run two Hurling Workshops for us over the weekend (7th & 8th April). Many thanks to all the coaches and children who came along.
Attached above are some group photos but also included are some photos of Tips/Advice from Paudie.

Under 12 Camogie Blitz - Kinsale 7th April.
One of the few games played over the weekend with the current wet weather, Kinsale hosted an u12 Camogie blitz on a damp pitch at Bandon road. Carragaline, Tracton, Sliabh Rua attended.
It was our first get together of the season and the Kinsale girls performed very well with the girls gaining confidence to lift and strike as the games went on. Carragaline proved to be the best of the bunch on the day with Kinsale matching Tracton and Sliabh Rua.
Well done to the girls on the 1st outing.
U12 Camogie Blitz in Sliabh Rua, Riverstick next Saturday 14th April - time to be confirmed.
Practice will start this Wednesday evening at 6.00pm in Kinsale and on Sunday mornings.
