Kinsale GAA Club is delighted to announce that our New On-Line Registration System is now live and ready to take your Club Registration/Membership. Please click on the link above and follow the very easy step by step procedure to be registered with Kinsale GAA Club.

With matches already started for some older teams and with Underage matches beginning very soon – its very important that all players are registered before they participate in Matches. Unregistered players are NOT covered by club insurance if they are involved in an incident.

Being included in all communications is also very important via our emails, texts and WhatsApp messages – from the end of March Kinsale GAA Club will be working off the new 2018 Registration Lists for all methods of communications. Therefore we are encouraging everyone to please register as soon as possible.

Many thanks for your support and co-operation in this very important matter for the club and for all its members.

The On-Line Project has been a long time in the making. With Kinsale GAA’s fantastic unique position of being a ‘One Club’ organisation (incorporating its Mens & Boys GAA Club, Girls & Ladies Football Club and Girls & Ladies Camogie Club all working together as one club under the one umbrella) it was important that the club took the sufficient time necessary to select the best option to suit all of its requirements.

This new On-Line system will continue to evolve with the club and no doubt still has small tweaks to be ironed out. The club welcomes all ‘feedback’ in relation to the on-line system –we welcome your thoughts and suggestions and we will try and take all the information on-board and incorporate it where possible for the betterment of the On-line system. Please note that it may not be possible to integrate all ideas/suggestions into the system.

Huge thanks to Ollie Caherty, the Clubs Registrar and Intermediate Player, who took this huge undertaking on board and agreed to head up this project. Huge amounts of hours, days and nights were spent researching and trialling and Ollie has been in constant contact with the suppliers of our new On-line System to bring it to being ‘live’. The club is indebted to Ollie for his enthusiasm and dedication in making this On-Line Registration Project a reality for the club.

This new system should hugely improve and speed up our Registration process – no more waiting ‘to try and see someone to pay’ – just simply click the link, follow the steps and registration will be complete in less then 6/7 mins from the comfort of your home!!

Many thanks to everyone who helped out in this project along the way – all the hard work has been worth it.

Please come along over the weekend and support all our players on the field of play – encouragement from the side-lines is key to driving a team onto victory.

It’s the first outing for our Under 21s in championship as the take on near neighbours and rivals Courceys – these local derbys always make for a great clash – so be sure not to miss out and make that short dash to Belgooly to support this team.

Just before the U21s take to the field – out in Dunderrow at 4.30pm our young u14s will be hosting Canovee – it’s also their first league outing of the new Season. Plenty of support for this team would be fantastic and encourage them to start off on winning ways.

Both the Ladies and Mens Team are in action on Sunday within a half hour of each other – so unfortunately a tough choice ahead for supporters. Please do make sure you try and get to one or the other.
A thrilling encounter out in Dunderrow is assured as Kinsale welcome Senior Club and All Ireland Finalists 3 years in a row, Mourneabbey. Plenty of inter-county players will be present, county allies but club rivals on Sunday. Should be a great match!!

Our Intermediate Men head to Cork Citys North side for a tough meeting with St Vincents. The 4th outing in the league for the Intermediates who now have 2 wins from 3 – a win on Sunday, making 3 in a row, will hopefully put them on a winning roll as the season continues. This team trains on Tuesday and Friday evenings and have been pushing themselves very hard and up’d their training even further again, incorporating new training strategies which is now paying huge dividends on the field of play. Well done to all and best of luck on Sunday.

Fingers crossed for 4 big wins for Kinsale over the weekend.

Victory Celebration Night – New Date Confirmed:

As you all know we had to postpone the clubs Victory Celebration Night due to the unprecedented weather of last week - I read a great word recently which I think describes it brilliantly ‘snowmaggedon’.

We are delighted to report that we can now confirm our new date for this event: Friday, 23rd March, at 7.30pm, Blue Haven -Ticket Price €20per person.

Don’t forget limited tickets are available in Blue Haven (at reception).
The tickets will still have the 2nd March date on them but will be valid for the 23rd
(we’ll save a few trees and a few bob for the club by not re-printing new ones :-) !!!)

We hope the new date will suit everyone (fingers crossed) – however, a full refund on tickets will be given to anyone who has already purchased tickets but cannot now attend on the 23rd.

Many thanks for all your support and patience - we look forward to seeing you on the 23rd March for a great night – honouring 2 great teams.

Coaching Course – Football – given by Ger Murphy:

See details below on a Coaching Course which the club has arranged. This would be of great benefit for all coaches to attend.

- Coaching Defensive Skills in GAA Football by Ger Murphy
- Sáile from 8pm to 9pm on Tuesday 13th March

Additional Information:
It is a course on defence - specifically defensive positioning, one on one and as a group.
Coaching the tackle
Various movement and drills to coach defences and tackle

This will be a hands on coaching course so tracksuit and runners advised.

All Coaches are strongly encouraged to attend, with emphasis from the U10 Girls and Boys age groups upwards.

If you need any further information please contact Brian Murphy or Ger Murphy.

Coaches Hurling Workshop hosted by Carrigaline GAA:
This is an excellent course for Hurling/Camogie coaches within the club.
Carrigaline GAA have sent it out to all clubs in South East – it would be great if we could get a representation from Kinsale GAA at this course.
See details below in the information provided on how to sign up etc.

St Patricks Day Parade in Kinsale – at the new time of 1pm

Saturday, 17th of March is fast approaching so it’s time to get those ‘thinking caps’ on and come up with a great idea for a costume and walk with your Local GAA Club.

Our Theme this year is “KinSync – We’ve rocked the Stage - Now lets rock the Pitch”

On our Float we will celebrate Kinsale GAA’s endless talents both on the stage and on the field of play!! Some of our KinSyncers from the shows in Actons will be joining us on the trip around town :-)!

This is for Adults and Children!! Its all about having the craic!! Why not get dressed up as one of your Favourite Celebs – or maybe an adult Celeb and then a mini-me version for the kids – go on…. it’ll be epic – everyone loves an excuse to dress up!!

Or come along in Kinsale Jerseys with footballs and hurleys to show off our talents on the field of play. We have plenty of local heroes to celebrate.

Be part of it – walk with Kinsale GAA and enjoy the craic – and it’ll be all over and done with in plenty of time to see Ireland take on the Scots and hopefully keep those Grand Slam dreams alive and kicking. Come on Ireland.!!!!!

There are loads of options – so come join Kinsale GAA on St Patricks Day as we celebrate our amazingly talented club!

Meet at 12.30pm up beyond Super Valu and the Fire Station – look for Kinsale GAA.

Important - Note for Parents:
Once Kinsale GAA have passed the Band Stand at the end of the route (down around Vista/Yacht Club) we will be directed by the stewards towards the Pier – we will gather there somewhere near the Harbour Master Office – you can collect your child/children as soon as Kinsale GAA are finished in the parade. (not when parade is completely over pleaseeeeee!).

Help with Stewarding required for Parade:
The St Patricks Day Parade Committee have asked Kinsale GAA if they could help with the Stewarding this year along the route of the parade and in other locations. It would be great if we could help them out with this job – you’ll get a birds eye view of the parade!!!!!
If you can help on the day can you text Laurence Murphy on 087-9056737 or Aine Ryan-O’Brien 087-9244613 to confirm. Thank you!

Kinsale GAA Easter Camp
The club will be running its Easter Camp again this year.

Lions Club – Annual Cycle for Sick Children:
The Kinsale Lion's Club Annual Cycle for Sick Children will be taking place on Saturday 28th April 2018 at 10am.

There will be a 100Km cycle for the serious cyclists and a shorter 25Km for older children and adults.

More details to follow over the coming weeks. Why not set this date as a target to get out in the fresh air and get fit - drag out that bike and start off doing a little bit every day. It’s a win win for everybody especially the very worthy cause that you’ll be cycling for.

Kinsale GAA encourages all our members to support this local event in aid of a very worthy charity.
