We don’t do things ‘by halves’ here in Kinsale!!

More fantastic news from the field of play by Kinsale GAA, which no doubt is the talk of the town already.

To win a Munster Title once is just amazing – most clubs will only ever dream of achieving such an honour. But once is not quite good enough for our Intermediate Ladies Football Team – who are now Munster Champions for a second year in a row. Moving up to the higher grade of Intermediate for 2017 – the team have powered through their Championship at this level as if they have always been Intermediate. Senior status ahead for 2018, which will no doubt again be taken in their stride…….current senior teams are no doubt looking at Kinsale and not looking forward to the prospect of playing them anytime soon.

Playing faultless football on Saturday (4th November) in Mallow, in front of a huge contingent of Kinsale Supporters – the team eased their way passed Clonmel Commercials to book their place in yet another All-Ireland Semi-Final (another two in a row achievement!). Final Score in Mallow 5-14 to 1-5.

A lovely speech from Captain Aoife Keating where she thanked in particular the supporters and the town of Kinsale for their unwavering and continued support, got a rapturous reception. And back in Kinsale later that evening where the team enjoyed a very well-deserved Garda Escorted ‘beep around town’ in celebration of this momentous win.

Kinsale now have the huge honour of hosting the All-Ireland Championship Semi-Final (the match will be played on the Main Pitch, Bandon Road) on Sunday, 19th November, throw-in at 1pm. The opposition on the day will be Moycullen, the Connacht Champions who will travel along with their supporters to Kinsale for this huge event in the GAA calendar.

There is now lots of work to be done in getting organised for the biggest event in Kinsale GAA history. And we are hoping that the town and community of Kinsale will get on board and come along for this epic journey. The town and business’ can play their part by decorating their shop fronts and windows in the Blue & White of Kinsale, as can all the schools by going Blue & White, and the community at large can also be involved by putting up flags and bunting around their homes and gardens.

Let’s create a brilliant buzz around the whole area and show off Kinsale for the fantastic place that it is – a place where community spirit is to the fore and that supporting our very own local legends and
heros is a must!

The Intermediate Ladies Football Team have taken us all on incredible journeys – lets continue the journey now together when it’s the most important – when it’s at home!

To host an All-Ireland Championship Semi-Final in such an incredible privilege - Kinsale GAA will do its utmost to succeed in giving this occasion all the glory, respect and support it so truly deserves.

We hope you will all be there with us…………………….

Details on all the arrangements will be send out over the next week – keep a check on Facebook and Clubify too. Flags and Bunting are available from Maurice Murphys Shop.

And not forgetting our brilliant young Minors who booked their place in the County Football Semi-Final last Saturday. These young lads are now on course for a County Double, having already won the Hurling. They booked their place in their Semi with a comprehensive win over Kilmacabea in Leap on Saturday (4th November)- full time score 4-15 to 1-11. Another massive win for the club and for this team who can do no wrong at the moment.

With League matches also still to full-fill this busy team will be training and playing matches well into November / early December. As soon as the County Football Semi-Final is confirmed we will send out all the details along with league match details also.

Our Under 13 Boys are also still on duty with a League Hurling Final and a Semi-Final in Football still to be played. This hard-working team won all their matches in their Leagues and we hope now they will get their ‘just rewards’ by competing in both finals to finish off a great season for them. As soon as we have all the details – we will forward them on.

With all this success on the field of play – Kinsale GAA may need to place a call into the Big Man himself and ask Santa if he could please postpone
Christmas for a few days, as we may need the 25th December to play a match, at this rate :-) :-) :-) :-)!!!

IMPORTANT NOTE – DATE CHANGE FOR THE LADIES FOOTBALL/CAMOGIE AGM:

With all this fantastic success on the field of play and now with some work to do to get ready for hosting the biggest event in Kinsale GAA’s history – the combined Ladies Football & Camogie AGM has been postponed to Friday, 8th December. (Venue and Time may change given its busy Christmas time - as soon as we have these details confirmed – we will send them out).

Apologies for any inconvenience this change may cause.

REMINDER – CLUB AGM AND BOYS UNDERAGE AGM:

Club (Adult) AGM
Saturday, 11th November, Temperance Hall, 7.30pm

Boys Underage AGM
Saturday, 18th November, Temperance Hall, 8.00pm

Please come along to our AGMs and find out what’s happening in our Club and the plans for the future.

We are urging people to please come along if they can to one of these AGMs – we are urgently now looking for more volunteers and helpers across all sections of the club, from coaching, to admin, to helping out at the café, stewarding/traffic control during training sessions and matches.
Ø Admin could be a job as easy as looking after sending out the text/WhatsApp messages for a certain age group confirming training or match details!
Ø Being involved in coaching might involve helping to bib up 25/30 U6 year olds before they start training!!
There are loads of ways a small contribution of your time could really really help.

We can no longer rely on the same people to carry on doing the various jobs without additional help…………… our underage numbers have tripled in the last 4/5 years as the club expands at a phenomenal rate. Our Club is in a fantastic place at the moment - huge successes again so far this season on the field play, numbers increasing year on year. To continue to run the club at the high standard we have all become accustom to – we urgently need more help.

This is not just the usual appeal for help – all our Clubs (Adult, Boys Underage, Ladies & Girls Football, Camogie) are quickly nearing that point where coping with the huge numbers is getting more and more difficult.
HELP IS NEEDED URGENTLY – THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY INVOLVED CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH. SO PLEASE IF YOU HAVE A FEW HOURS A WEEK TO SPARE - PLEASE GET INVOLVED IN YOUR CLUB.

If you can’t make one of the AGMs but would like to help out – you can contact any of the Chairpersons below or reply to this email. Many thanks for your continued support.

John Martin Nyhan (Adult Chairperson) 087-6025318, Aisling Judge (Ladies Football) 087-6627308, Tom Kelleher (Camogie) 087-2432216, Gearoid Condon (Boys Underage) 086-8325202

Reminder:- Mens Hurling Session:
Men’s Hurling Session was a great success last Friday (3rd November) with 25 showing up to take part (see facebook for photos). There was great fun and craic and some hurling too:-)! Don’t worry if you don’t have a hurley and helmet you can borrow one from the club. The second night will take place this Friday 10th November 8.30pm to 9.30pm in Sáile.

One Last Push to sell the very last of our Tickets - Club Development Draw 2017/2018:
Down to the last few tickets for this exclusive draw (only 300 tickets maximum are entered into the 4 big draws – one every quarter). We are appealing for one final push now to have all the tickets sold before the first draw later this month.
This is a major Fundraiser for the development of our facilities, which will benefit all our members both young and old. Thank you to all those who have purchased a ticket already – your support is greatly appreciated.
If you are interested in purchasing a ticket please contact any of the people listed below or simply reply to this email.

Thank you so much.

Here a few different suggestions re purchasing a ticket; (1) Buy your own, (2) Share with a friend/family member, (3) get a group of 4 together to share a ticket, or of course you can (4) utilise our Standing Order facility which takes €10 a month from your account directly into the Development Fund account. With either option above your ticket is immediately entered into all 4 draws that take place over the course of the end of 2017 and into 2018.

If you would like to purchase a ticket you can contact :
Catherine Murphy 087-2168734
David Shortall 087-6979089

OR you can reply to this email or also contact Emma on 086-3926527.

Together lets get the development of our club facilities off the ground – we can all do our bit:-).
Huge thanks to all those who have supported this fundraising campaign over the years. Without your help ‘the end would never be in sight’!!

Facilities Development Update
Over the next couple of months, the perimeter fencing on the main pitch in Kinsale will get a significant upgrade – replacing all the wire and adjusting the poles as part of this work.
This will be completed before the end of 2017 so expect to see an upgraded and refreshed pitch fence perimeter all ready for the start of the 2018 season!

Given the increased playing numbers across all parts of the club, there is a committee actively reviewing options for suitable facilities for the club moving forward.
Over the past several months this has included looking at potential sites for new facilities and this search is ongoing.

Be a KinSync Sponsor
As with any big fundraising event keeping costs and expenses to a minimum is crucial – the objective is for all monies raised to go directly to our Club Development Fund. If you would like to become a KinSync Sponsor and help Kinsale GAA to raise as much funding as possible please contact Catherine or Emma. All sponsors will be advertised continuously during the KinSync event, as well as being included on all club communications being sent out.
Please feel free to pass this email to places of work, friends, family members, other businesses that you think may be interested in helping out our club – we would be truly grateful for all the financial assistance received – taking the monetary strain off the clubs finances to run an event like this is key. Like every household the club has general expenses, the dreaded regular bills that must be paid - so avoiding adding to this outlaying of money is always a huge benefit.
Kinsale GAA is very very grateful to all our sponsors both present and past – without your financial support it would be extremely difficult to run our club to the high standards that we hold today – THANK YOU.
