Club AGM
The Club’s Annual General Meeting will take place this year on Saturday 11th November, 2017 @ 7.30pm in the Temperance Hall.
All members are welcome to attend.

Come along to hear all about Season 2017, how the club finances stand, progress/update on the Development of Facilities, plans for Season 2018 and beyond.

Facilities Development Update

Over the next couple of months, the perimeter fencing on the main pitch in Kinsale will get a significant upgrade – replacing all the wire and adjusting the poles as part of this work.
This will be completed before the end of 2017 so expect to see an upgraded and refreshed pitch fence perimeter all ready for the start of the 2018 season!

Given the increased playing numbers across all parts of the club, there is a committee actively reviewing options for suitable facilities for the club moving forward.
Over the past several months this has included looking at potential sites for new facilities and this search is ongoing.

Club Development Draw 2017/2018:

This is a vital annual fundraising scheme with all monies collected going straight towards our Club Development Fund. Maximum number of tickets entered into this exclusive draw is 300, so the chances of winning one of the big prizes is fairly high.

Price per Ticket is €100.00.

The Club really appreciates that this is a lot of money with so many other expenses that families have to cope with now. Going forward your contribution will really help to boost our Development Fund which in turn will benefit all our members young and old.

Here a few different suggestions re purchasing a ticket; (1) Buy your own, (2) Share with a friend/family member, (3) get a group of 4 together to share a ticket, or of course you can (4) utilise our Standing Order facility which takes €10 a month from your account directly into the Development Fund account. With either option above your ticket is immediately entered into all 4 draws that take place over the course of the end of 2017 and into 2018.

If you would like to purchase a ticket you can contact :
Catherine Murphy 087-2168734
David Shortall 087-6979089
Sean O Callaghan 086-8104800
Gearoid Condon 086-8325202
Mairead Cronin 087-3238219
Michael O Sullivan 086-3340307

OR you can reply to this email or also contact Emma on 086-3926527.

Together lets get the development of our club facilities off the ground – we can all do our bit:-).

Huge thanks to all those who have supported this fundraising campaign over the years. Without your help ‘the end would never be in sight’!!

To anybody that maybe contemplating purchasing a ticket, please do not hesitate to contact any person above who can answer any questions/queries you may have or if you need additional information – it would be fantastic to see new members getting on board too. Many thanks everybody for your continued and unwavering support for our club.

2017 End of Season Family Morning at the Pitch – Sunday, 1st October – Another Fantastic Success.

Another incredible End of Season Morning last Sunday down in our new home for the day – Sáile. The weather thankfully was very kind to us – the strong wind paid a visit but the dreaded rain steered clear :-).

There was lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of yummy treats for everyone and plenty of tea/coffee readily available. Its great to report that we had double the numbers this year for our End of Season Morning. For the last few years it has been 200/250 approx …………………..……………we had approximately 500 people in Sáile last Sunday, between Adults and Kids …….WOW..

The whole morning went off without a hitch with plenty of On-Pitch Activity and our pop up Café in the lobby of Sáile was buzzing and busy:-).

Special Thanks to Damien and Meabh Cahalane, InterCounty Players with Cork who came along and spent the morning in Sáile with us. Meabh was kind enough to bring along the O Duffy All Ireland Camogie Cup and there were lots of photos taken with it.
Also thanks to Kealen O Rourke who was there with the Under 16s winning cups for this Season.
To the members of the Ladies Intermediate Football Team who came along with their County Cup – thanks so much. Best of luck in yer Munster Club Championship Semi-Final tomorrow in Mallow.

Very important Thank you’s to all our fantastic future stars who came along to take part in the Mini-Matches and to all the parents, brothers & sisters, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends who were there to show their support for our brilliant players and for the club. Thank you all so much for your outstanding and continued support for Kinsale GAA – enjoy the break now but don’t forget to remind the kids to keep practising whenever they can:-).

Huge Thanks to our Coffee Sponsors Pat and Sinead O Regan of Kinsale Coffee who once again very kindly donated the gorgeous coffee and cups for the morning - this will be their 3rd year in a row sponsoring the coffee for us – and it is truly appreciated by everyone in the club. Please support Kinsale Coffee whenever you can – its yummy!

To our Face Painters who had an endless line of children for the morning ! Michelle Sheehan who brought along all the face paint and accessories, Niamh Boyle and Julliette -thank you so so much ladies for helping out again this year. The kids were thrilled.

Thank you to Anne and Damien in Sáile for making their fabulous facilities available to us.

And to our Super-hero helpers in the Café – legends one and all – they were on the go all morning keeping the tea/coffee and treats going. Deirdre Murray, Catherine Moynihan, Carol O Callaghan, Colette Kelleher, Katie O Regan.

Thank you to everybody who stayed back to help with the clean up afterwards – we were all done and finished up in an hour !

Thanks to everyone on the Field Committee who were there to help with traffic and to Brian Murphy for co-ordinating the whole thing.

To Laurence and Catherine Murphy for taking all the photos.
And lastly a very important ‘thank you’ - Sincere thanks for all the food that was donated for the Family morning – and what a display of food it was! thank you so so much to everyone – what a ‘spread’!!! - it was an amazing response to our ‘calling all bakers appeal’ and surpassed all our expectations!
The Club would also like to take this opportunity to say to………
All our Coaches (Adult, Underage Boys, Camogie, Ladies/Girls Football) from Under 6’s right up to Adult Players. Your endless enthusiasm, energy and commitment to the club is awe-inspiring and above and beyond ‘the call of duty’. The club certainly would not be in the fantastic place that it finds itself in today (now with over 1000 members) without your passion and dedication to coaching and mentoring our young stars of the future. There can never be enough thanks for your constant loyalty to the club and your remarkable, unwavering commitment to all the children/adult players that you coach. THANK YOU ALL.
All our Committee Members and Officers who serve on all the various committees within Kinsale GAA – your commitment to the club is incredible and is also ‘above and beyond the call of duty’. You, as committee members are instrumental in shaping the future of our club and guiding it towards achieving all of its goals, especially the very hard job of fulfilling the clubs Financial Goals (Special Thank you to the Weekly €2 Lotto, Annual Club Development Draw and all our fundraising committees). The various Committee’s also have the added responsibility of ensuring that Kinsale GAA Club will always remain a proactive and progressive club within the community and that it will continue to have a big presence in Kinsale and its surrounding area’s – the huge amount of work that you contribute to ensuring all of this is staggering. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL. Thanks to our fantastic group on the Field Committee who keep the pitches and clubhouse in pristine condition throughout the year/s!.

Scoil Naomh Eltin, St. Multose National School, Dunderrow National School, Summercove National School, Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile, Kinsale Community School.
Anthony Shannon – welcome back Anthony to another season of coaching in our schools for Kinsale GAA! Your commitment and genuine interest in Kinsale GAA is fantastic and over the past few years, we have no doubt that the club has gained a huge amount of new players through being introduced to GAA in a very positive and fun manner by your goodself.
Our schools liaison Micheal O Connor – the relationship you have built up with all the local schools in the area is incredible – thank you so much.
Our Social and Cultural Group – thanks for all the music, songs, instrumentals, dancing, whistling over 2017 – we’re all looking forward to hearing more in 2018 – for anyone who missed the night in the Temperance Hall in August – don’t miss it next year! It’s a must-see…… well done to all.

And Finally to our Main Club Sponsors The Blue Haven Group (Ciarán Fitzgerald) –thank you, very sincerely, for your support, for your belief in Kinsale GAA, for your commitment to help make our Club the very best that it can be and for taking this journey with us, into what can only be a bright bright future, From everyone at Kinsale GAA Club.
And that’s a wrap…………!!!
A thousand apologies if we have forgotten anybody (human error is a terrible thing!!) – please let us know and we will rectify that straight away. There is always that danger that somebody or a group will be forgotten when doing the ‘thanks you’s’ ….. it’s important to the club that we thank everyone, as best we can, for all of work they selflessly give to Kinsale GAA! Many thanks for your understanding :-).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Our various AGMs (Adult, Underage Boys, Ladies/Girls Football/Camogie) will be held towards the end of October/during November. All parents are welcome/encouraged to come along. As you can see for yourself on Sunday mornings, Monday evenings and at the various other training sessions at the pitch throughout the week - the huge amount of players training is phenomenal. For the 2018 Season we envisage that this number will increase significantly yet again!
We are always looking for new people to come along and give us a hand – no previous experience necessary – training will be provided!!!! Help is needed in all aspects of the club from coaching to administration, from helping to bib up 20 U6 year olds, tying shoe laces or helping with helmets, to taking a headcount – help is needed in all area’s - so please if you feel you can give an hour or two of your time every week – we would be thrilled with the extra help.
Thank you everyone for helping to create such special memories that we will all only appreciate as time goes by and realise just how much good fun it all is and was!

The lost and found boxes are full to capacity – with loads of club tops and t-shirts, 2017 cúl camp tops and lots and lots of other tops, jackets, bottles, lunch boxes and a pair of football boots (very small size U6 perhaps).
This jacket was also found by our Field Committee when lining the pitch recently so if any coaches from visiting teams have been enquiring re a lost jacket it maybe this one: O'Neill's windbreaker found by the dugout. It's black with a green stripe.

In keeping with tradition all unclaimed lost and found clothing is donated to the local St Vincent de Paul Shop at the end of October and all bottles/lunch boxes are unfortunately just dumped. When at the pitch over the next week or two please be sure to go through the boxes if you are missing something. The lost and found boxes are located in the Kitchen.

Please contact Emma on 086-3926527 who can arrange for access to the Lost and Found Box for anybody that would like to go through it.

KinSync! Get those Lips Ready to Rock! First Prize - €1000 to the Winning Act’s nominated Charity!

THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE! PLEASE NOTE BELOW!!!!:

Kinsale GAA Club Development Fundraiser – Actons Hotel – Saturday, 3rd February 2018.

Due to our many successes ‘on the pitch’ with a lot of our older Underage, Minor Players and Adult Teams progressing through to Divisional, County and Munster Semi-Finals/Finals – it is going to be a very busy time for the club over the next month or so. As a result of this it has been agreed to postpone our upcoming KinSync Fundraiser to early next year.
Fundraising for our Club Development is of course extremely important but supporting our players on the pitch is also very important. So before Season 2018 kicks off next year we will hold our KinSync Fundraiser.
We are extremely grateful to all our confirmed acts who have all committed to taking part in February 2018.

So now…….Plenty of time for a few more acts to come on board with us and strut their stuff on the stage!!! We are always looking for more amazing performers to join us for this mega night. So if you are King or Queen in your house of singing in the shower with your Shampoo Bottle as the microphone or strutting your stuff around the house with the microphone Sweeping Brush then get texting Catherine Murphy on 087-2168734 or Emma O Callaghan on 086-3926527 and be part of this brilliant night – great craic is assured :-).
Perform on your own, in a Duet or organise a Group – whatever you prefer :-)

Equally if anyone out there has time to spare and would like to help out on the night /organising of the event – please contact Catherine or Emma.

THIS EVENT IS STRICTLY FOR OVER 18s!. (performers and audience).

Be a KinSync Sponsor
As with any big fundraising event keeping costs and expenses to a minimum is crucial – the objective is for all monies raised to go directly to our Club Development Fund. If you would like to become a KinSync Sponsor and help Kinsale GAA to raise as much funding as possible please contact Catherine or Emma. All sponsors will be advertised continuously during the KinSync event, as well as being included on all club communications being sent out.
Please feel free to pass this email to places of work, friends, family members, other businesses that you think may be interested in helping out our club – we would be truly grateful for all the financial assistance received – taking the monetary strain off the clubs finances to run an event like this is key. Like every household the club has general expenses, the dreaded regular bills that must be paid - so avoiding adding to this outlaying of money is always a huge benefit.
Kinsale GAA is very very grateful to all our sponsors both present and past – without your financial support it would be extremely difficult to run our club to the high standards that we hold today – THANK YOU.

NOTE ON LIP SYNC - What is Lip Sync?
Can’t sing, Can’t play…don’t have a KitKat ;-)!! Well your time has arrived to shine ………Lip Sync is the event for you.

1. Pick your favourite song
2. Mime to your favourite song on a stage (lights n sound – just like Top of the Pops!!) in front of your friends and family. Groovy Dance Moves / Fancy Dance Routines are mandatory :-)….
3. That’s it! Enjoy the glory………….
